The LIEP
Each Light Industrial Eco Park (LIEP) will include an AD system; the parameters around this system are flexible and will change to reflect the needs of the local community.
LIEP1 in Stockport will focus on utilising excess heat from the CHP generator to dry timber for the Greater Manchester Tree Station. The Tree Station will process a range of timber products from chip through to kindling within a purpose made drying shed. This system will increase both the speed and efficiency of drying wood and produce a range of high quality materials for use within Greater Manchester.
LIEP2 could work with a market gardener/community growing scheme to utilise heat within greenhouses to extend the growing season and expand the range of fruit and vegetables that can be grown. This would provide direct benefits to the local community through the supply of fresh, local produce, creation of jobs, training, and placements.See
