What we do
Fairfield AD Ltd.(Fairfield) has developed a business to divert unwanted commercial and household food waste away from landfill through an Anaerobic Digestion (AD) process. Working in partnership with technology providers the Bio Group through a joint venture (Fairfield Bio) food waste will be delivered to the site and processed through the AD system.
For the system to succeed, we need to work with businesses and Local Authorities with the ability to think laterally,
if food waste can be diverted from a business or a household without a garden then it can be processed to generate renewable electricity.
Fairfield will focus on processing food waste from businesses and from Council high rise, private apartments, back to back terrace, hospitals, schools, colleges and others within an urban area. These properties provide the opportunity to collect kitchen waste from a concentrated population where home-composting systems are not always the appropriate solution.
Each Fairfield AD system will be located on a Light Industrial Eco Park (LIEP) to create a flexible cluster of sustainable businesses that work holistically to utilise waste and energy streams.
