Waste Management System

Waste is a bi-product of the way we live, as consumption has increased so to as the associated waste (over the entire lifecycle of a product/service).

The greenest most sustainable waste management solution is to design waste out of our lives, changing lifestyles, maximising product life, eliminating or if not minimising the range of packaging materials to increase their ‘recyclability’ potential (especially plastic) have to be the first steps taken in the waste campaign.  Recycling is a great energy saver but it can never compete with total avoidance.

But there are plenty of barriers to this happening; time, money and space to wait for waste avoidance to take full effect.  So we need to introduce end-of-pipe solutions to a global problem while keeping our aspirations on waste avoidance.  Local, small-scale solutions can provide flexible and effective means of introducing green waste management systems to enable areas to become self-sufficient.

Fairfield AD will introduce 20,000 tonne per annum facilities for pure food waste, this local, green and sustainable solution will maximise the potential of food waste to generate renewable electricity.  Food waste from commercial and municipal sources will be processed through a local Greenfinch system within a 'green' building.

Benefits

Competitive waste gate fee – longer contracts for fixed term contracts are available.

Green Credentials of diverting food waste away from landfill through a local system that generates a range of green products from renewable electricity through to nutrient rich fertilisers.
