Fairfield AD Ltd. (Fairfield) is developing sustainable systems to challenge existing waste management models. This business venture recognises the commercial opportunity that is food waste.
The two key drivers for the business are the Landfill Directive and EU Directive 2000/77/EC, the former will require reductions in biodegradable waste sent to landfill and the latter requires an increase in the levels of renewable energy production.
Existing waste practices focus purely on disposal and specifically the cost of disposal. Our system looks at the wider picture. It has evolved to create triple bottom line benefits to directly support local communities, and it brings together processes that work to create a unique symbiotic flow of materials, energy and resources with the creation of Light Industrial Eco Parks (LIEPs).
